Help Us In Our Fight Against CF!

I like to think I'm a pretty charitable person.  I've always had a passion for volunteer work and helping those in need.

When I was just out of college, I spent hours volunteering at a local homeless shelter, playing with kids and giving moms a break to run an errand, eat uninterrupted, meet with a counselor, take a nap, etc.  I (and others) spent hours and hundreds of dollars buying Christmas presents for the entire shelter so every mom and child would have a present to open that year.  I loved those kids and I wholeheartedly supported that shelter.

In the past, I've donated money towards research for lung cancer, breast cancer, muscular dystrophy, and parkinsons disease.  I've joined walks and fund-raised for causes that friends and family felt passionate about.

With my last company, I sat on a committee that organized volunteer events for the staff.  We built benches and flower boxes for the playground of a local elementary school.  We painted the common room in a shelter.  We raised money and walked a 5k to show support for lung cancer research.

I've always wanted to help in any way that I could.  And now I'm calling on you for your help...

This May, our family will be participating in the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's Great Strides event.  We will be showing our love for Sienna and dedication to finding a cure by walking with others affected by this disease and by doing all that we can to reach our $10,000 fundraising goal.  We can't do it alone; so I'm calling on you to help us.

There are multiple ways you can get involved and/or show your support:

1)  Walk with us!  The Great Strides walk for Cystic Fibrosis happens in May every year.  We currently have three teams set up - one in Charlotte, one in Syracuse, and one in Danbury.  I would LOVE if you were able to show your support by dedicating a few hours of your Saturday and walking with one of our teams.  I've included the locations, dates, and our sign up pages below.

Charlotte, NC:  5/17/2014  Charlotte Great Strides Page
Syracuse,  NY:  5/31/2014  Syracuse Great Strides Page
Danbury, CT:  5/18/2014  Danbury Great Strides Page

*If you do not live near one of these walk locations and would like to join a walk near you, please let me know!!  I would love to expand the reach of our team "Strides for Sienna."

2)  Buy a bracelet!  I have partnered with KMaynard Designs, a small business on Etsy owned by my good friend, Kristin Maynard.  She and I have come up with three bracelet designs representing our fight against Cystic Fibrosis.  I have included the link to each design on her Etsy page below where you can order one for yourself!

For every "Sienna" bracelet purchased, KMaynard Designs is donating $5 towards our Great Strides campaign.  Bracelets are $16.80 (includes shipping).  If you buy a bracelet, please share pictures of you wearing it on the KMaynard Designs facebook page.

3)  Buy another bracelet!  You can't have too much arm candy, especially when it's for a good cause.  When my friend and Stella and Dot Stylist, Jenny Wilken, learned of Sienna's story, she also wanted to help.  For every Stella and Dot "Hope" bracelet sold, she will be donating her commissions earned on that order to our Great Strides fundraising campaign!  Please read more about her generosity here

You can order your Hope bracelet today directly from Jenny's website.   This beautiful rose gold bracelet is $32 + tax/shipping.

4)  Donate!  Monetary donations can be made directly through my Great Strides page.  No amount is too little!  Every dollar will go towards CF research and will help us add tomorrow's to those affected by this disease.  Research has come SO FAR and we are SO CLOSE to a cure.  All donations are 100% tax deductible.

Your generosity and support is greatly appreciated!

All Smiles

Snow in the South!
