Back To Work

Thirteen weeks goes by way too fast.  I truly enjoyed my maternity leave and being able to spend every single minute hanging out with my little girl.  I wouldn't trade those minutes for anything in the world.

Over those 13 weeks, there were ups and downs; good days and bad.  There were smiles and tears; laughs and frustrations.  There were doctor appointments and tests; questions and worries.  But I wouldn't trade those moments for anything.  Because those were moments with our perfect little girl - even if they were a little different than I had expected.

Plus, who wouldn't love staring at this little face all day?

I've grown so much already!

But alas, my maternity leave came to an end and it was time for me to return to work.  Being a stay-at-home-mom just isn't an option for us at this time, especially with the unknowns ahead of us regarding Sienna's health and the financial responsibility that comes with that.

So where is Sienna you might ask?  As you might remember reading in my 4th of July post, we decided to forgo the traditional daycare center we had lined up for Sienna to attend.  The class sizes were large, and therefore the risk of Sienna picking up germs that could make her sick was high.

We decided to keep Sienna home, and actually have a family friend coming to the house each day to take care of her.  This significantly cuts down the risk for her and will get us through her first cold and flu season.  Come springtime, we will re-visit the idea of daycare.  For now, Sienna gets fun-filled days of reading books, listening to music, going on walks and playing on her play mat.

The doctor appointments and tests will continue on, but at least we know we are providing Sienna the safest environment for her at this time!
