Fall Bucket List

Fall festivities are taking over our weekends, and we couldn't be happier! (Well, cooler weather and a pumpkin spice latte in hand would it make it slightly better). Now that the girls are getting older, we find ourselves looking for weekend activities more than before. Since I love to cram as much fun into our time together as possible, I've put together a fall bucket list - and since I'm so late to posting this, we already have things checked off!

I also got a new camera last month and have been testing it out over the past few weeks.  Heads up - this is a picture heavy post :)

Fall Festival at Freedom Park:

One of the largest (or maybe it is the largest?) parks in Charlotte had a fun fall festival a few weeks ago while my brother and his girlfriend were in town visiting. I asked Sienna what she wanted to do that weekend with them, and she said "go on rides!" Right before we pulled the trigger on Carrowinds for the day (and several hundred dollars), we found this fall festival - and lucky for us, it had fair rides perfect for tots their size. The girls enjoyed lemonade, funnel cake, music, face painting, spinning rides and pony rides.
Cool kids at the fair - and the little one knows it!
Lover of fast, spinning rides!

Visit a Pumpkin Patch

Another one of Sienna's requests had been visiting a pumpkin patch. So off we went last Sunday, dodging crowds by heading there early in the morning. I took the girls to the same pumpkin patch we've visited the past three years, which has a barn of animals, apple cider, and loads of pumpkins. This year they even had white and green pumpkins which were fun! We try not to buy pumpkins at the pumpkin patch, since they are cheaper at the grocery store...but without Joe to keep us in check, 4 prized pumpkins made their way home with us. And despite the overcast skies, it was a hot 80 degree and muggy day - definitely not pumpkin picking weather!

Sienna had been talking about going to see "the lights at the flower garden" for weeks before we actually got there. To avoid lines of traffic and herds of people, we decided to go on a Sunday night instead of Friday or Saturday. We had talked about going Sunday after picking Joe up from the airport, but the weather was calling for storms all afternoon and evening. The rain held off and I took a chance and purchased tickets, just hoping we could make it through the lights before the skies opened up. While we weren't there while the skies were really dark, we still enjoyed the fun and whimsical lights and statues and made it inside right as the storm came through. Sienna says her favorite lights were the dolphins, and Tess loved...the dolphins (because she likes what Sienna likes!)

We can't wait to check the rest off our list! Tell me, what are your favorite fall activities? Comment below on anything we might be missing from our list!
